Our Story,

Bo-Bar Poll Dorset Stud is owned and operated by husband and wife Jamie and Rhyll, alongside their son Lochie. The stud was founded in 1975 by Jamie’s parents, Bob and Barbara, at their property “Barwood” in the Southern Tablelands of NSW.

For over 50 years, Bo-Bar has remained a family-run operation built on practical experience, disciplined selection and a long-term commitment to breeding productive, reliable stock. What began as a foundation flock has grown into a stud focused on supplying rams that perform under real commercial conditions.

Our Philosophy,

At Bo-Bar, our focus is simple — breed Poll Dorset rams that work in the paddock.

We prioritise structural soundness, fertility and doing ability, selecting sheep that thrive in commercial environments and contribute to stronger, more productive flocks.

As part of our ongoing commitment to genetic improvement, we have commenced ASBV recording through Neogen. This step allows us to further strengthen our selection decisions and provide clients with increasing levels of performance transparency over time.

Our goal is to deliver rams that add long-term value, not just on sale day, but for years to come.
